Meet Your Physical Therapist
Megan Powers, PT, DPT
Personal stuff:
Mama to three little girls, all of whom have very different, equally big and vibrant personalities. My husband Sean is also a physical therapist! We have a rescue dog, Kells.
I love being outdoors; I like to run (trails and road), bike (road only!), and lift weights. I come from a family of physical therapists (and one chef extraordinaire) so you could say PT is "in my blood."
Fun fact: I am a professional improviser. If you're not sure what that means, you should come check out a show! You can find our team, The Alexanders, cracking up audiences in venues throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties and in Philly.
Professional stuff:
Studied at Temple University - Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology and at Neumann University - Doctor of Physical Therapy
Spent the first six years of my career practicing outpatient PT in a family business with my dad and brother (both PTs!) where I gained tons of experience running a practice and serving as a clinical instructor for 14 students from several PT schools. Transitioned into home healthcare for another 5+ years until the Coronavirus pandemic hit when I left my position, homeschooled my children, and eventually opened my own practice, Provenance Wellness and Physical Therapy.

I have collected a LOT of continuing education over my years practicing, but in the last several years I have gained hundreds of hours of education specifically in the areas of women's health and fitness, pelvic health, lactation and infant feeding, tethered oral tissues, and infant development. I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist through Lactation Education Resources, which means I am able to help breastfeeding parents troubleshoot some of the most common issues with breastfeeding, as well as provide support and education to the community. I am specially trained in treating the symptoms associated with tethered oral tissues, torticollis, and resolving head shape issues without a helmet!
